Twelve niches that work without a face, grouped by how the video gets made: voiceover, screen recording, or filming without your face. The order is by format, not by earnings: TikTok publishes no earnings by niche, so this page shows no CPM figures, and "finance pays $15-20" style numbers seen elsewhere are not TikTok data.

TikTok's help page lists what it does not treat as original, and its European terms add a few exclusions. Several of the most common faceless formats fall on the wrong side:

• Photo slideshows: TikTok's terms exclude Photo Mode posts, and its originality rules exclude videos made only of "single or multiple photos".
• Quote and text-on-screen videos: content with "only text overlays" does not count as original.
• Looping clips: videos made of looping footage are excluded too.
• Reposts and compilations: content copied from others, re-uploads changed only by speeding up or adding "filters, fixed texts, or stickers", and videos built from other people's material "without new and personal ideas".
• Split screens and slide videos: TikTok's Creator Academy lists "split screens, meaningless reactions, low-quality images, or slide videos" as low-quality content that is not eligible.
• Reddit stories over someone else's gameplay: a post written by another person, read over footage you did not record, matches the descriptions above, and a split-screen layout adds another. TikTok has not named this format, so treat it as high risk rather than banned.
• Duets, Stitches and lip syncs: none count, and copyrighted music playing for over one minute can get a program video muted.
• Anything under one minute: eligible videos must be at least one minute long.

These rules decide whether a video collects Creator Rewards; they are not a list of banned posts.

What fits the rules is the same work a presenter-led channel does, minus the face: a script you wrote, narration in your own words or an AI voice reading them, footage you recorded, screen recordings, and AI visuals made from your own script.

TikTok's program pages do not mention AI-generated video directly, so the test that matters is the originality definition: content "designed, filmed, and produced by you" that shows your expertise, talent or creativity.

Every format above comes down to four production methods:

1. 1Voiceover over visuals. Write a script with the hook in the first seconds (the viral hook library has templates), record narration or use an AI voice, then cut stock, archive or AI visuals to the script and add captions. Plan for at least a minute if you want Creator Rewards.
2. 2Screen recording. Record the calculator, spreadsheet, app or game, then narrate what the viewer is seeing. When the screen shows your own work, such as your spreadsheet or your gameplay, it matches TikTok's description of original content as work designed and produced by you.
3. 3Hands-only or POV filming. Mount the phone overhead or frame the shot below the shoulders. Cooking, cleaning, crafts, product demos and fitness all work this way.
4. 4AI-generated video. If the visuals or voice are realistic, TikTok requires an AI-generated label, and its help page says turning the label on won't affect distribution as long as the video follows the Community Guidelines. TikTok may also add the label automatically when a file carries Content Credentials, and an automatic label cannot be removed.
