UGC Ad Script Templates

These six UGC ad script frameworks cover the structures that dominate direct-response video advertising on TikTok and Meta Reels in 2026. Each template is fill-in-the-blank, ready to paste into an AI video tool or hand off to a creator. The most important creative variable in any UGC ad is the hook in the first 2 seconds: all six frameworks include multiple hook variants you can test independently.

Framework 1: Problem-Agitate-Solve (PAS)

The PAS framework is the most reliable direct-response structure for cold-audience acquisition. It names the pain, makes it feel more acute, then delivers relief.

Structure:

  1. 1Hook (0 to 2 seconds): name the problem with specificity
  2. 2Agitate (2 to 8 seconds): describe the cost or consequence of the problem staying unsolved
  3. 3Solve (8 to 20 seconds): introduce the solution and how it works
  4. 4CTA (last 3 seconds): tell the viewer exactly what to do next

Fill-in-the-blank script:

"[Hook:] If you're a [target customer] and you're still dealing with [specific problem], here's what nobody tells you.

[Agitate:] Every [time period], you're losing [measurable consequence]. And the [common solution they've tried] isn't fixing it because [root cause].

[Solve:] [Product name] is the only [category] that [specific mechanism]. It a clear, measurable result in [timeframe], without [common objection like 'without changing your routine' or 'without a contract'].

[CTA:] Tap the link to [specific action, e.g., 'try it free for 14 days']."

Hook variants to test:

  • "If you're a [customer type] still struggling with [problem], keep watching."
  • "The reason [problem] keeps happening isn't what you think."
  • "Stop [common ineffective behavior] before you do this."

Timing guide

60 to 80 words runs 15 to 20 seconds at a natural speaking pace. Ideal length for cold-audience TikTok and Meta Reels.

Framework 2: Before and After

The before/after framework works by making the transformation vivid and relatable. The "before" state must be specific enough that the target viewer recognizes themselves in it.

Structure:

  1. 1Hook (0 to 2 seconds): describe the before state as a scene the viewer is living in
  2. 2Before (2 to 6 seconds): expand on what life looked like before the product
  3. 3Discovery (6 to 10 seconds): how did you find the solution, and how quickly did it start working
  4. 4After (10 to 20 seconds): describe the after state with specific, measurable details
  5. 5CTA (last 3 seconds): link or prompt

Fill-in-the-blank script:

"[Hook:] Six months ago I was [specific before-state description].

I'd tried [alternative 1] and [alternative 2] and nothing was working. I was spending [time or money] on [problem] every [week/month] and still getting nowhere.

Then I found [product name]. [Specific simple action you took]. Within [short timeframe], I noticed [first result]. By [longer timeframe], I was [specific after-state metric].

I haven't [done the old painful thing] since. If you're still dealing with [before state], [CTA with link]."

Hook variants to test:

  • "I used to [before behavior]. Here's what changed."
  • "Six months ago [specific problem]. Today a clear, measurable result. Here's the difference."
  • "What nobody tells you about [problem] until you've fixed it."

Timing guide

80 to 100 words runs 20 to 25 seconds. Longer before/after arcs work well for retargeting audiences.

Framework 3: Three Reasons

The three-reasons framework is particularly well-suited to AI video generation because it has natural scene breaks: each reason is a visual beat. It also builds credibility by showing you have thought through the problem from multiple angles.

Structure:

  1. 1Hook (0 to 2 seconds): make a specific claim that the three reasons will prove
  2. 2Reason 1 (2 to 8 seconds)
  3. 3Reason 2 (8 to 14 seconds)
  4. 4Reason 3 (14 to 20 seconds)
  5. 5CTA (last 3 seconds)

Fill-in-the-blank script:

"[Hook:] Three reasons [target customers] are switching from [old solution] to [product name].

Number one: [specific benefit with mechanism]. Unlike [alternative], [product] [specific differentiator].

Number two: [second benefit]. Most [category products] [limitation]. [Product] [how it avoids that limitation].

Number three: [third benefit, ideally the most surprising or counterintuitive]. And this one is the one people never expect.

If you're [target customer], [CTA and link]."

Hook variants to test:

  • "Three things I wish I'd known before [relevant decision]."
  • "Why [specific customer group] stopped using [competitor category] for [product category]."
  • "I tested [number] [product category options]. Here are the only three things that actually matter."

Timing guide

90 to 110 words runs 22 to 28 seconds. Works for both TikTok and Meta Reels cold audiences.

Framework 4: Unboxing and First Impression

The unboxing framework converts because it reduces purchase anxiety. Seeing the product arrive, be opened, and be used for the first time mimics the experience the viewer is about to have. For AI-generated video ads, this framework works best with product demo format (visuals of the product plus voiceover) rather than a talking-head presenter.

Structure:

  1. 1Hook (0 to 2 seconds): lead with what you received and the expectation
  2. 2Unboxing moment (2 to 8 seconds): describe the arrival and packaging experience
  3. 3First use (8 to 18 seconds): describe the first time using the product, including a specific detail that surprised you
  4. 4Verdict (18 to 22 seconds): honest summary assessment
  5. 5CTA (last 3 seconds)

Fill-in-the-blank script:

"[Hook:] I finally got [product name] and I need to tell you about the first thing I noticed.

[Unboxing:] It showed up in [timeframe]. [Packaging or arrival detail]. The first thing you see when you open it is [specific detail that signals quality or thought].

[First use:] I [first action taken]. I was not expecting [pleasant surprise]. The [specific feature] is [honest adjective: simple/fast/different from what I imagined] because [brief explanation].

[Verdict:] If you've been [decision hesitation, e.g., 'on the fence about trying this'], [verdict statement]. It's [honest summary]. Link in bio."

Hook variants to test:

  • "My [product] just arrived and here's the first thing I noticed."
  • "I ordered [product] skeptical. Here's what I found inside."
  • "[Timeframe] after ordering [product]: honest first take."

Timing guide

90 to 110 words runs 22 to 28 seconds.

Framework 5: Testimonial with Specific Results

The testimonial framework lives and dies on specificity. A generic testimonial ("I love this product, it really works!") is ignored. A specific testimonial ("I went from [measurable before] to [measurable after] in [specific timeframe]") creates belief.

Note: if the testimonial is AI-generated or uses a synthetic presenter, FTC disclosure is required. If it is a real customer speaking their genuine results, it is fully compliant as a regular paid testimonial (requiring only the sponsorship disclosure, not the AI disclosure).

Structure:

  1. 1Hook (0 to 2 seconds): the result, stated specifically
  2. 2Credibility context (2 to 6 seconds): who you are and why you matter as a source
  3. 3The story (6 to 18 seconds): what the situation was, what you tried, what you used instead
  4. 4Specific results (18 to 22 seconds): numbers, timeframes, what changed
  5. 5Recommendation and CTA (last 3 seconds)

Fill-in-the-blank script:

"[Hook:] I [specific measurable result] in [timeframe] using [product name].

I'm a [role or identity relevant to the product]. I've been dealing with [problem] for [duration]. I tried [alternative 1] and [alternative 2]. Nothing was working until I started using [product].

Here's what actually happened: [specific detail, week 1]. By [timeframe], [specific second milestone]. By [longer timeframe], [final measurable result].

I'm not saying it works for everyone. But if you're a [customer who fits this profile], it's worth trying. [CTA and link]."

Hook variants to test:

  • "[Specific result] in [timeframe]. Here's exactly what I did."
  • "I've been a [role] for [duration]. Here's the only [product category] that actually made a difference."
  • "Real results: [before number] to [after number] in [timeframe]."

Timing guide

90 to 110 words runs 22 to 28 seconds. This format can extend to 45 to 60 seconds for retargeting with a richer story arc.

Framework 6: Founder Story

The founder story framework is the highest-trust format in direct-response video when it works, and the easiest to make feel inauthentic when it doesn't. The key is that it must reveal genuine stakes: why the founder personally needed this product to exist, what they risked, and what they learned.

This framework works for brands where the origin story is the differentiator. It is less effective for generic utility products with no meaningful founding story.

Structure:

  1. 1Hook (0 to 2 seconds): the moment of frustration or failure that started it all
  2. 2The problem you couldn't solve (2 to 8 seconds): why existing solutions failed you personally
  3. 3What you built and why (8 to 18 seconds): the core insight and what you did about it
  4. 4What happened next (18 to 25 seconds): early results, first customers, proof
  5. 5Why you're telling them (last 5 seconds): the invitation and CTA

Fill-in-the-blank script:

"[Hook:] I built [product name] because I couldn't find [the thing it solves] anywhere.

I was [role] trying to [goal]. Every solution I tried [specific limitation]. I spent [time or money] on [alternatives]. Nothing worked the way I needed it to.

So I built [product name] from scratch. The core idea was simple: [one-sentence description of the differentiating mechanism].

The first [early customers or test group] tried it and [specific early result]. That's when I knew it wasn't just solving my problem.

If you're dealing with [problem], I built this for you. [CTA and link]."

Hook variants to test:

  • "Nobody was building [thing], so I did."
  • "I quit [previous context] to build [product] because [reason]."
  • "The [product category] I was looking for didn't exist. So I made it."

Timing guide

110 to 130 words runs 28 to 35 seconds. Longer formats (60 seconds) work for founder story in retargeting campaigns. Keep cold-audience versions tight.
