What happens when audio is reversed
Reversing changes the order of every sound in time: the source's ending becomes the beginning, attacks become reversed tails, and speech no longer follows its original phonetic sequence. It does not merely reverse the file name or metadata.
The output plays forward as an ordinary MP3 while its audio content is backwards. Use it for sound-design experiments, transitions, or checking a recording you are authorized to edit.
For a short transition, first trim a cymbal hit or other sound you created, then reverse the excerpt here. Import the downloaded MP3 into your editor and position it where you want the effect. The tool creates the sound file; it does not place it on a video timeline.
Duration and output-format limits
The free tool processes up to the first 15 minutes because audio reversal must buffer decoded sound before writing it in the opposite direction. Very long sources should be trimmed first.
The result is encoded as MP3 even when the input is WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, Opus, AAC, or an MP4 soundtrack. Reversing does not enhance the original recording quality.
