When center-channel vocal removal works
Many stereo mixes place the lead vocal in the center, meaning similar vocal information exists in both channels. Subtracting one channel from the other can reduce that shared material while leaving sounds panned toward the sides.
The method often works best on conventional stereo music with a dry, centered vocal. Preview the downloaded result before using it in a practice track, remix, or personal edit.
Why vocals may remain in the instrumental
Stereo reverb, doubled vocals, backing vocals, and vocals panned away from the center will not cancel completely. Centered bass, drums, and other instruments may also be reduced because the filter cannot know which centered sound is a voice.
Mono recordings can become extremely quiet, and this tool does not produce isolated studio-quality stems. A dedicated licensed multitrack or an AI stem-separation workflow is more appropriate when clean separation is essential.
Use songs and recordings responsibly
Upload only music you created, licensed, or have permission to process. Removing or reducing a vocal does not remove copyright or grant permission to distribute the resulting instrumental.

Does this vocal remover use AI?
No. It uses deterministic stereo center cancellation, so the file stays within FluxNote's temporary processing service and results depend on the original mix.
Why can I still hear some vocals?
Reverb, doubled parts, backing vocals, and off-center vocals are different between the stereo channels and therefore do not cancel completely.
Will it remove other instruments?
It can reduce centered drums, bass, and instruments along with the lead vocal. The filter cannot identify a voice independently of the stereo mix.
Can it process a mono song?
A mono source is unsuitable because nearly all of its sound is shared between both channels and may become extremely quiet.
Can I publish the resulting instrumental?
Only if you own the relevant rights or have permission. Vocal reduction does not change the copyright of the source recording or composition.
