AI Ad Maker: Tools, Costs and Ad Specs Compared (2026)

An AI ad maker turns a product link, photo or short brief into ad creative: a script, an AI presenter or product animation, voiceover, captions and the right frame for each platform. This guide compares the main options on price and free limits, lists the specs Meta, TikTok and YouTube publish, and walks through building an ad in FluxNote.

What is an AI ad maker?

An AI ad maker is software that generates ad creative from material you already have, such as a product URL, product photos or a few lines about your offer. The tools fall into three groups, and the right one depends on the ad you need to run.

  • AI presenter and UGC video tools write a script and have an AI actor deliver it on camera, in the style of creator-made social ads. Creatify, Arcads and the Ad Studio covered below work this way.
  • Static and banner generators produce image ads and copy variations in many sizes. AdCreative.ai is the best-known example, and it now also makes product videos.
  • Built-in platform tools sit inside the ad manager you already use. Meta's Advantage+ creative, part of Ads Manager, generates variations of your images and videos, and TikTok's free Symphony Creative Studio builds TikTok videos from product details or a URL.

If you advertise on TikTok or Reels and have no footage, start with a presenter tool or Symphony. If you mainly run feed and display ads, a banner generator or Advantage+ creative may be all you need.

Two patterns stand out. Free tiers are tests, not production plans: Creatify's free exports carry a watermark, and the Free plan in the first row is licensed for personal and evaluation use, so neither is meant for running paid ads.

And the platform tools are easy to overlook. If TikTok is your main channel, Symphony Creative Studio costs nothing to try before you pay for a third-party tool.

Video ad specs by platform

Export to the frame each placement expects. These are the figures the platforms publish; check the current spec page for your exact ad type before you render.

PlacementFrameLengthNotes
Instagram Reels9:16, 1440x2560 recommendedUp to 15 minutes allowedKeep text and logos out of the top 14%, bottom 35% and 6% on each side
Facebook Feed4:5 recommended, 1440x18001 second to 241 minutesCheck the placement preview in Ads Manager before publishing
TikTok In-Feed9:16 recommended, at least 540x9605 to 60 seconds on many in-feed placementsSpecs differ by objective and placement, so confirm in TikTok Ads Manager
YouTube skippable in-streamNot fixed on Google's format pageNo maximum; viewers can skip after 5 secondsShow the product and offer inside the first 5 seconds
YouTube non-skippable in-streamNot fixed on Google's format page60 seconds or shorterViewers must sit through it, so keep it tight
YouTube bumperNot fixed on Google's format page5 to 6 seconds, non-skippableOne message and one visual
YouTube Shorts adsVertical, like organic ShortsUnder 60 seconds recommendedViewers can swipe away immediately

If you build in Ad Studio (walkthrough below), its frame options are 9:16, 1:1, 16:9, 4:3, 3:4 and 21:9. There is no 4:5 frame, so for Facebook Feed check how a 1:1 or 9:16 render looks in the Ads Manager preview.

What a good AI ad needs

Google's ABCD framework for YouTube ads (Attention, Branding, Connection, Direction) works as a checklist for any AI-made ad, because AI tools make it easy to produce polished footage that still misses the basics.

  • A hook in the first seconds. Google advises getting to the heart of the story faster. On skippable YouTube ads you have 5 seconds before the skip button appears.
  • Words on screen as well as in the audio. Google recommends reinforcing the message with audio and on-screen text, which also reaches people watching with the sound off.
  • Your brand early. Introduce the brand or product from the start and keep it present, rather than saving the logo for the last frame.
  • One focused message. Pick a single benefit per ad and test other benefits as separate variants.
  • A clear call to action, said out loud. Google suggests backing the on-screen call to action with voiceover.
  • Safe zones. On Instagram Reels, Meta asks you to keep key text out of the top 14%, the bottom 35% and 6% on each side so the interface does not cover it.
  • Several variants. Change one element at a time, such as the hook, the presenter or the offer, so you can tell what moved the results.
  • Honest presenters. An AI actor can demonstrate or explain a product. It should not pose as a real customer giving a testimonial.

AI presenters and the fake testimonial rule

In August 2024 the US Federal Trade Commission announced a final rule banning fake reviews and testimonials, including ones that misrepresent that they are by someone who does not exist, such as AI-generated fakes.

Businesses may not create, buy or spread them when they knew or should have known they were fake, and the FTC can seek civil penalties against knowing violators.

For AI ads, that makes a script such as "I used this serum for a month and my skin cleared up", spoken by an AI actor who never used the product, a real risk.

Safer formats are product demonstrations, explainers, founder-voiced scripts and real customer quotes used with permission.

Platforms review AI content too: TikTok says everything made in Symphony Creative Studio goes through moderation and policy review before it can be published.

Our guide to FTC endorsement rules for AI UGC covers disclosure in more detail.

How to make a video ad in FluxNote

Ad Studio builds product video ads from a URL, photos or a description. It is included in every paid plan; Free accounts can open it but are asked to upgrade before generating.

  1. 1Add your product. Paste a product URL or upload photos in the URL to Ad step, or describe the product and choose from generated product images.
  2. 2Choose a format from the table below, or a motion-design style, which first builds a 9-frame storyboard you can adjust frame by frame.
  3. 3Pick an avatar from the library, create your own or generate one from a short description. The same face carries through every scene, and you can skip this step for a product-only ad.
  4. 4Add a hook and a setting if you want them. There are 23 opening hooks, from stunts such as Product Drop to subtle openers such as Interview or Close Up. You can also attach up to 9 reference images and 3 video or audio clips of up to 15 seconds each.
  5. 5Set the frame, resolution and length. The app shows the credit cost before you generate. 4K exports need the Max or Ultra plan.
  6. 6Review and make variants. Regenerate with a different hook or avatar, use Remix to rebuild a winning ad's structure with fresh hooks, and use lip-sync to put a new script or language on an existing presenter.

What it costs to make ads in Ad Studio

The Free plan includes one AI-produced video a month at 720p, 100 credits to try Image Studio and preview access to UGC Studio, with no card required. It is licensed for personal and evaluation use, so it is not meant for running paid ads.

PlanMonthlyQuarterly, per monthYearly, per monthCredits a monthExport
Rise$20$14$102,0001080p
Pro$40$28$204,0001080p
Max$100$70$508,0004K
Ultra$200$140$10015,0004K

Every paid plan includes Ad Studio, Lipsync Studio, all four UGC Studio quality tiers, 350+ voices in 27 languages and commercial usage rights for social posts, paid ads and client work.

Credits are one shared pool for video, images, UGC and audio.

They refresh each month without rolling over, and credits for a failed render are returned automatically.

A single 3-second AI clip costs 25 credits and a 5-second clip costs 50, while Ad Studio prices each ad by its length and resolution and shows the total before you generate, so check it against your monthly allowance.

Current prices are on the pricing page.

Limits of AI ad makers

  • Product accuracy. Generated scenes can alter labels, logos or the shape of a product. Compare every frame with the real item before you publish.
  • Presenter realism. AI actors can look synthetic in long close-ups. Short scripts and product-led shots hold up better.
  • Claims. AI writes confident copy, and you are responsible for backing up every claim and for following testimonial rules.
  • Platform review. AI content still goes through ad review, and disclosure rules differ by platform and ad category.
  • Cost per usable ad. Credit-based tools charge for every generation, including takes you throw away. Creatify, for example, counts any AI regeneration as a new generation. Budget for several attempts per finished ad.
  • No guaranteed results. An AI ad maker speeds up production. It does not replace testing ads against each other.
