How to Reverse a Video on CapCut

Reversing a video on CapCut's mobile app is a three-step process.

Step 1: Import Video and Add to Timeline

1. 1Open CapCut on your iPhone or Android phone

What does NOT reverse (or requires a workaround):

• Captions or text overlays: Captions will reverse with the video playback, but text may appear upside down or backwards. Solution: Remove captions before reversing, or reverse the video, export it, and add new captions in CapCut afterward.
• Voiceover: If you recorded voiceover in CapCut, reversing the video does not reverse the voiceover. Solution: Delete the voiceover before reversing, or record it after reversing the video.
• Transitions and effects: Effects applied before reversing may behave unexpectedly after. Test the result before exporting.

• Very long videos (30+ minutes) may cause playback lag on mobile phones
• Desktop handles longer videos better
