Canceling CapCut Pro depends on where you signed up. If you subscribed through Apple App Store (iOS), cancel via Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > CapCut > Cancel Subscription. If through Google Play (Android), use Google Play Store > Subscriptions > CapCut > Cancel. If on desktop at capcut.com, cancel in your account settings. CapCut does not issue refunds directly; request refunds through Apple or Google instead. Pro features remain active until your current billing period ends. The free CapCut tier still covers basic editing after cancellation.

How to Cancel on iPhone (iOS App Store)
If you subscribed to CapCut Pro through the Apple App Store, Apple controls your billing. You must cancel through iOS settings, not inside the CapCut app.
- 1Open Settings on your iPhone
- 2Tap your Apple ID name at the top
- 3Select Subscriptions
- 4Find and tap CapCut in the list
- 5Tap Cancel Subscription
- 6Confirm cancellation
Apple will show an 'Expires on' date. You keep access to Pro features until the end of the current billing cycle.
After that date, you automatically revert to the free CapCut plan. No refund is issued by CapCut itself.
If you were charged unexpectedly or believe the charge was unauthorized, request a refund directly from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How to Cancel on Android (Google Play)
If you subscribed through Google Play on an Android device, Google manages your subscription. Cancel in the Google Play Store, not inside CapCut.
- 1Open Google Play Store on your Android device
- 2Tap your profile icon in the top right corner
- 3Select Payments and subscriptions
- 4Tap Subscriptions
- 5Find CapCut in the list
- 6Tap CapCut
- 7Select Cancel subscription
- 8Confirm cancellation
Make sure you are logged into the same Google account used to purchase CapCut Pro. If CapCut does not appear in your subscriptions list, you may be in a different Google account or the subscription was purchased elsewhere (web or iOS).
Pro access expires at the end of your current billing period. Refund requests go through Google Play's refund portal: support.google.com/googleplay.

How to Cancel on Desktop (capcut.com Web Account)
If you signed up for CapCut Pro directly on capcut.com through your account, cancel in account settings on the website.
- 1Visit capcut.com and log into your account
- 2Click your profile icon or account settings (usually top right)
- 3Navigate to Subscriptions or Billing
- 4Find CapCut Pro
- 5Click Cancel or Cancel Subscription
- 6Confirm the cancellation request
Web subscriptions typically renew on a monthly or annual cycle. After cancellation, your Pro access expires on your next renewal date. CapCut will send a confirmation email once cancellation is complete.
Refund Process: What to Expect
CapCut itself does not issue refunds. Refunds are handled by the platform where you were billed: Apple, Google, or your payment method directly.
For Apple App Store refunds
Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, select the CapCut transaction, and request a refund. Apple typically processes refunds within 5 to 10 business days. Explain why you want the refund (unexpected charge, do not use the app, etc.). Apple approves most refund requests for subscriptions if requested within 14 days of the charge.
For Google Play refunds
Open Google Play Store > profile icon > Payments and subscriptions > view purchases > find CapCut > request refund. Google refunds within 48 hours if requested within 48 hours of purchase. Refunds after that window are handled case-by-case.
For web subscriptions (capcut.com)
Contact CapCut support directly through their in-app support form or email. Response time varies, typically 3 to 7 business days.
Important: Deleting the CapCut app does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel through the subscription platform itself (Apple, Google, or CapCut account) or you will continue to be charged.
What Happens to Your Videos and Pro Features After Cancellation
After you cancel, your CapCut projects and videos are not deleted. Your access to Pro features (unlimited exports, advanced filters, effects, and longer video length limits) expires at the end of your current billing period.
During the grace period (until your billing cycle ends)
You still have full Pro access. Export and save any videos using Pro features before the expiration date.
After Pro access expires:
- Free tier limitations return: maximum video length (~15 minutes per export, depending on device), limited effects and filters, watermark on exports (if not a paid account at signup), slower export speeds
- Your saved projects remain in your CapCut account and are not deleted
- You can re-open projects and re-edit them, but you cannot use Pro-only effects and filters without re-subscribing
- Any videos already exported are yours to keep
If you need to keep your projects editable with Pro features, export all finished videos before your billing cycle ends.
What to Use Instead: Free Tier CapCut, Canva, and Alternatives
After canceling CapCut Pro, you have several alternatives depending on your use case:
Keep Using Free CapCut
CapCut's free tier is legitimately capable. You can edit videos, add transitions, apply basic effects, and add captions. The main limitations are export speed and some premium filters. If you edited videos before CapCut Pro, the free version handles basic projects.
For General Editing (similar to CapCut Pro)
Canva for video editing offers free and paid tiers. The free version includes templates, stock footage, and basic effects. Premium ($13/month) unlocks more templates and brand kit storage. DaVinci Resolve is a professional-grade free editor (unlimited, no watermark). CapCut's competitor Descript ($24/month) combines editing with transcription and captions.
For Faceless Video Marketing (short-form ads, product demos, social content)
If you used CapCut for business video marketing or faceless content (AI video generation with voiceover), FluxNote ($10 to $49/month) generates complete videos from scripts. You write a brief, FluxNote generates script, voiceover, visuals, and captions automatically. It is designed for marketing campaigns, UGC ad creation, and product demos. No manual editing required.
For Captions and Accessibility
Submagic ($19/month) is caption-first: it generates captions and makes them a centerpiece of the edit. Ideal if captions are your primary editing task. Google's free captions tool in Drive and YouTube Studio generate basic captions without editing.
For Mobile-Only Editing
If you primarily edit on phone, Instagram's Reels editor (free, in-app), TikTok's editor (free, in-app), and YouTube Shorts editor (free) all offer basic editing without subscriptions.
