AI Video Generator
Free AI Video Generator: What You Actually Get for $0
Yes, you can make AI videos for free, but no major generator is unlimited. Free plans are metered by the day, week, month or a one-time grant, and most add a watermark, cap resolution or rule out commercial use. Below is what each top tool gives you for $0, checked on official pages on 14 October 2026.

How It Works
Create a free account
Sign up without a card. The Free plan covers one AI-produced video a month at 720p.
Add a topic or script
Type a topic or paste your own script. If you only give a topic, the AI writes the script.
Review scenes, voice and captions
Check that each scene matches the narration and that captions read correctly before the final render.
Export and decide
Download the 720p result for personal or evaluation use, then judge whether 1080p, premium models and commercial rights are worth paying for.
Key Benefits
One complete video a month
Script, narration, captions and matched visuals in one render at 720p on the Free plan.
No card required
Create the account and your first video without entering payment details.
100 Image Studio credits
Test AI images for thumbnails or scenes; an AI image costs 1 to 25 credits depending on the model.
Upgrade only for a reason
Paid plans unlock premium video models and commercial rights and export in 1080p or 4K, from $14 a month billed quarterly.
What does each free AI video generator give you?
Use this table to compare free tiers, not output quality. FluxNote publishes this page and lists its own free plan first because it is the product we can document best; the order is not a ranking.
Every value comes from the vendor's own pricing, product or help page, checked on 14 October 2026. "Not verified" means the vendor's pages did not state it, not that the answer is no. We did not run output-quality tests for this page.
| Tool and best fit | What you get free | Watermark on free video | Free resolution and length | Commercial use on free |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Magic Hour: quick tests with no account | 3 text-to-video and 3 image-to-video generations a day | Yes | 480p; 3 seconds per clip | No: personal, non-commercial use only |
| Runway: testing several clip models once | 125 credits, one time, that never expire; a selection of models | Free images: yes. Video: not verified | Not verified; Gen-4.5 uses 12 credits per second | Runway says you own your work on every plan, including Free |
| Adobe Firefly: B-roll you may need to use commercially | Daily free generations across image, video and audio; Firefly Video Model plus select partner models | Not verified (Content Credentials attached) | Not verified for Free | Firefly Video Model output is designed to be commercially safe; partner models may differ |
| Kling: realistic motion with daily practice | Daily free credits (amount not published on the pages checked) | Yes | 1080p; 4K needs a membership | Not verified |

| Higgsfield: browsing many models before paying | A small set of models, no credits | Yes, on every free generation | Not verified | Not verified |
| Canva: Veo clips inside designs, on paid plans | Create a Video Clip is listed for Pro, Business, Enterprise and Nonprofit; Free is not listed | Not verified | Paid plans: 16:9, up to 8 seconds, with synced audio | Not verified |
| Picsart: many video models on paid plans | No free terms stated on its AI video generator page | Not verified | Not verified | Not verified |
| Synthesia: avatar presenter videos | 10 minutes of video and 500 credits a month, 9 AI avatars | Yes | Not verified | Not verified |
Two patterns stand out. Free clip generators give you seconds of footage, often watermarked, while script-to-video tools give you a whole narrated video but fewer of them. And commercial rights are the most common catch: among the tools in this table, only Runway and Adobe Firefly state a basis for using free output in paid work.
How does each free allowance renew?
The reset schedule matters more than the headline number, because it decides whether you can iterate or must get it right on the first attempt.
- Daily: Magic Hour (3 text-to-video and 3 image-to-video generations a day), Adobe Firefly (an allotment that resets every day) and Kling (daily free credits). Good for learning prompts, because a failed attempt only costs today's allowance.
- Weekly: InVideo AI resets its free credits every Monday at 00:00 UTC, according to its help center.
- Monthly: FluxNote (one finished video a month) and Synthesia (10 minutes of video and 500 credits a month). Plan around one deliverable per month.
- One-time: Runway's 125 credits never renew, but they also never expire. Spend them on a shot you have already planned.
- Limited models, no credits: Higgsfield lets free accounts generate on a small set of models, with a watermark on every output.
- No free AI clip allowance listed: Canva lists Create a Video Clip for paid and Nonprofit plans, and Picsart's AI video page lists only paid plans.
If you need a steady supply of free footage, pair one daily tool for practice with a monthly or one-time allowance for the final version.
What does FluxNote's free plan include, and where does it fall short?
The Free plan includes one AI-produced video per month at 720p, 100 credits to try Image Studio and preview access to UGC Studio, with no card required, as listed on our pricing page.
The video workflow starts from a topic or your own script, writes the script if you only give a topic, and builds scenes with narration, captions and matched visuals.
That suits a faceless explainer, a YouTube Short or a social post you want to see finished before paying.
The limits are real. Free output is for personal and evaluation use, so client work and paid ads need a paid plan.
Paid plans unlock the premium AI video models, such as Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0, Runway and Hailuo, and include the full editor and unlimited re-renders. Paid plans start with Rise at $14 a month billed quarterly ($42 every 3 months), which adds 1080p exports, 2,000 shared generation credits a month and commercial usage rights; Max and Ultra export in 4K.
Choose another tool if you need a free cinematic clip from a prompt, free 1080p output or free commercial rights. Kling offers 1080p on its free tier (with a watermark), Adobe Firefly's own video model is designed for commercial safety, and Runway says you own your work even on Free.
Which free AI video generator fits your project?
Start with the job, then filter by the constraint that would block you.
- A finished narrated video (explainer, faceless Short, listicle): use a script-to-video tool. FluxNote gives one complete 720p video a month, InVideo AI gives weekly credits with a watermark, and Synthesia gives 10 avatar-presented minutes a month with a watermark.
- A single cinematic shot or B-roll: use a clip generator. Adobe Firefly and Kling refresh daily, Runway gives a one-time 125 credits, and Magic Hour gives three 3-second clips a day at 480p.
- No watermark on free exports: Pixlr says its generated videos export with no watermarks, and our free video carries none. Magic Hour, Kling, InVideo AI, Higgsfield and Synthesia watermark free output.
- Commercial use without paying: Runway says you own your work on every plan, including Free, and Adobe says its Firefly Video Model output is designed to be commercially safe. Magic Hour's free tier and our free plan are personal-use only.
- No account at all: Magic Hour says its video generator works in the browser with no sign-up, within its daily limits.
If the video is for a client, an ad or a monetized channel, confirm commercial rights before you build a workflow around free output; on several tools that means a paid plan.
What is text to video AI, and which kind do you need?
Text to video AI turns written input into moving footage, but the phrase covers two different products.
Clip generators such as Runway, Kling, Adobe Firefly, Pixlr and Magic Hour turn a prompt, or a still image, into one short shot.
Canva's Create a Video Clip produces a 16:9 clip of up to eight seconds with synchronized audio, and Adobe says most Firefly models generate clips of up to 8 seconds, with some reaching 15.
You get striking visuals, but you assemble the story yourself.
Script-to-video tools take a topic or script and assemble a full video: narration, captions and a sequence of matched scenes.
This is the format to look for when you want a finished AI generated video for YouTube or TikTok rather than a single shot, and it is the workflow behind our text to video generator.
If you already have a picture, image to video animates it instead.
A quick test: if the video needs a voice explaining something for 30 seconds or more, start with a script-to-video tool. If it needs one memorable moment, start with a clip generator.
How can you stretch free AI video credits?
Free allowances run out fastest on rerolls, so most of the savings come from deciding before you generate.
- 1Write the prompt or script outside the generator first: subject, action, camera, lighting, length and aspect ratio. Change one variable per retry.
- 2Test at the shortest length and lowest quality setting. Length drives cost: on our pricing page a 3-second clip costs 25 credits and a 5-second clip costs 50, and Runway's Gen-4.5 uses 12 credits per second, so its 125 free credits cover roughly 10 seconds.
- 3Approve a still image before animating it. On our pricing page an AI image costs 1 to 25 credits against 50 for a 5-second clip, and image-to-video keeps the look you already chose.
- 4Practise on daily allowances such as Magic Hour, Adobe Firefly and Kling, and save one-time or monthly allowances for the final version.
- 5Ask whether failed renders are refunded before retrying hard. Our detected failed renders return their credits automatically.
- 6Export as soon as a result works. Our plan credits refresh on the first day of each month and do not roll over, and other tools reset on their own schedules.
Keep a short log of each attempt: settings, credits spent and whether you kept the result. After a week you will know what a usable clip really costs you on each tool.
What should you check before publishing a free AI video?
Free output comes with conditions that matter once a video leaves your screen.
- Usage rights: Magic Hour limits free users to personal, non-commercial use, and our free plan is for personal and evaluation use. Runway says you own your work on every plan. Adobe notes that partner models inside Firefly may have different usage terms from its own Firefly Video Model.
- Watermarks and provenance: a visible watermark is easy to spot, provenance data is not. Adobe attaches Content Credentials to Firefly output, and Runway says its own models add C2PA content credentials on every plan.
- Resolution: 480p or 720p works for a draft or a phone-first post but can look soft on a large screen. Check the downloaded file, not the editor preview.
- Model availability: models get retired. OpenAI discontinued the Sora web and app experiences on 26 April 2026 and removed the Sora 2 models from its API on 24 September 2026, so treat any Sora listing as out of date.
